DUBC Sculling Camp - Week 3

calendar08:30 Sunday, 09 August 2026 to 16:00 Friday, 14 August 2026

High Performance Camp (week 3) August 9th (pm) - 14th (Sunday to Friday) The High Performance Camp is aimed at juniors (16-18) and focuses on water sessions in singles developing participants technique and exposing them to what it may be like to row at a high performance university like Durham. In addition to these sessions during the week land sessions will be completed such as: ergo technique, strength and conditioning, core strength, and flexibility. The camp may also involve sessions in crew boats. There may be the opportunity for athletes, who are interested in joining/applying to Durham University to look around the colleges and campuses, please register interest on the sign up form. This camp is based at Durham University's water training site at Tyne United Rowing Club. Travel is provided to all participants. Whilst equipment is provided athletes are encouraged to bring their own boats and blades if they have them. This is to eliminate any familiarisation issues that come with rowing in different equipment. Lunch is included within the cost of the camp (non-residential & residential) We offer both non-residential and residential options with those choosing residential being accommodated at Durham School. Set in its own grounds, adjacent to Durham Cathedral in the very heart of the city, it provides the perfect base to explore Durham. The buildings are very much a 'house' area, with newly refurbished dormitories and bathrooms. Participants can also enjoy the use of common rooms, sports facilities and yard, meals are served in the communal dining room. The residential option includes breakfast and evening meals at Durham School.
